Updates - Development Week 4

What have we achieved?

  • Deploy a non-Vuforia version of our application to Hololens.
  • Created a set of "views" with different panels to achieve a consistent look and feel for the application.
  • Create a "Summary View" that appears after scanning each logo
  • Create an algorithm that determines the "Threat Score" of a website. This takes into account all the data that Symantec has provided.
  • Ensure that the AR content remains stable once vuforia stops working


What we are planning to do next?

  • Integrate the data provided by Symantec with our application.
  • Create a splash screen that prompts the user to scan a logo
  • Explore the use of spatial aspect in existing AR applications
  • Create a layout that is consistent with the mobile app for the hololens 

What are the challenges we are facing?
  • Integrating Vuforia with hololens 1 is problematic (it's a hololens known issue)
  • Visualizing data that is inherently text (eg. Cookie data) in a scheme that is not based on displaying text.

Updates - Development Week 1

What have we achieved?     - Formulating a concrete idea about what the project will be.     - Finalizing technologies needed and a project plan.     - Getting everyone familiar with the Unity environment.     - Importing a custom Asset (Logo) in unity. What we are planning to do next?     - Figure out how to get familiar with advanced unity concepts.     - Explore vuforia and how to integrate it with unity.     - Explore how to create and import custom assets in unity.     - Try to visualize basic creations in unity on a mobile device using tutorials like such: https://www.itgenerator.com/augmented-reality-app-development/ What are the challenges we are facing?     - Find use cases where Mobile-based Mixed reality gives an edge over any 2D visualization.     - Think about redesigning UI to make it less cluttered based on presentation feedback received on piazza.
